My Work
I like to say that intention is more important than technique. At least it is mostly. Sure, I have proficiency in several massage techniques including, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish, Deep Tissue (although I don't consider Deep Tissue a technique), Active Release Technique, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (Wow, that's a mouthful!), but so do probably a lot of other Massage Therapists.
What sets me apart is my keen ability to synthesize/create a Meaningful Therapeutic Massage Session that aims to be both practically effective as well as soothing and nurturing. My attentive listening, my extensive experience in body-centered meditation and Yoga practices, my background in biological sciences and study of human anatomy all inform and help me assess what areas of the body need attention and what type of work is needed to promote lasting therapeutic effects.
What do I mean by "meaningful", you may ask?

My extensive personal experience receiving many types of massage for more than 20 years and from over 12 years working with others, I know that a lasting therapeutic effect is going to manifest in better performance ("performing" means something different for everyone, for example: walking, playing tennis, golf, baseball or frisbee, hiking, carrying children, shopping, sleeping, driving, etc. - thus the value of giving you my full attention and learning about you) and better overall physical, mental and emotional health. In other words, people feel much better overall for a longer period of time. My goal for every session is to help you feel and perform better for as long as possible after you leave.
